Now it’s winter, it’s time to get the circulation moving. It’s that time of year when we need to do things that keep us warm.
Dry skin brushing, washing with guasha to deep clean the skin and move briskly even when it’s the last thing you feel like doing.
Movement and an alkaline diet is the best defense against inflammation and often when it’s cold we do the opposite. To stimulate the lymphatic system try to brave a switch from hot to cold in the shower to wake things up and get the blood moving.
I use a cold bath I have set up outside – I fill it with ice and then the reward is to jump into the infrared sauna to get the blood and oxygen flowing. I drink some ginger tea first and rub some lemongrass essential oils into any sore bits before I go in during the day and at night I diffuse some lavender oil and rub some frankincense on my hands before listening to some mediation.
It’s the simple things in life that are the best.
