Push yourself to get up before the rest of the world – start with 7am, then 6am, then 5:30am. In winter go out in a big coat and scarf, find a view, in summer bare arms and legs and watch the sun rise.
Push yourself to fall asleep earlier – start with 11pm, then 10pm, then 9pm. wake up in the morning feeling re-energized and comfortable. lie in your garden, feel the sunshine on your skin.
Great to intermittent fast daily but at weekends kick back and get into the habit of cooking yourself a beautiful breakfast. Try frying tomatoes and mushrooms in real butter and garlic, fry an egg, slice up a fresh avocado and squirt way too much lemon on it.
Feel gratitude as you eat it and do nothing else.
Stretch, practice yoga and start by reaching for the sky as hard as you can, then trying to touch your toes. roll your head. stretch your fingers. stretch everything. Imagine yourself growing taller.
Buy a 1 litre water bottle. start with pushing yourself to drink the whole thing in a day, then try drinking it three times.
Buy a beautiful diary or journal and a beautiful black pen. write down your dreams bigger than you think possible. Try it when you wake before your thoughts have time to get in the way. Let the stream of consciousness free flow on the page.
Strip your bed of your sheets and empty your underwear draw into the washing machine. wash, then hang them in the sunshine with care. Always make your bed in full before you leave the house.
Dig your fingers into the earth, plant a seed. see your success as it grows every day. Marvel at the wonders of nature. Take off your shoes and feel the bare ground beneath your feet.
Tidy and organise your room, fold all your clothes (and bag what you don’t want), clean your mirror, your laptop, vacuum the floor. At night light a beautiful candle and give gratitude for at least ten things that day.
Take time to practice your deep breathing and ground yourself. Take off those rubber soled shoes and make daily contact with the sand or earth to energize and recharge
Have a luxurious shower with your favourite music playing. wash your hair, scrub your body, brush your teeth. lather your whole body in moisturiser, get familiar with soft skin between your toes, your inner thighs, the back of your neck.
Push yourself to go for a walk. take your headphones, go to the beach or woods and walk. Smile at everyone walking the other way and be surprised how many smile back. Take your dog everywhere and see how happy he is to be out with you and the conversations it triggers with strangers
Message old friends with personal jokes. reminisce, arrange a catch up soon, even on zoom! Even if you don’t follow through. push yourself to try!
Think long and hard about what interests you; painting, cycling, sewing and do more of it! Forgotten how to play the piano? Find a book about it and read it. There is a book about literally everything.
Visualise the person you would ideally fall in love with or fall deeper in love with the person you have! Be polite and let cars merge into your lane when driving. Pay double for parking tickets and leave a second one in the machine. Smile at babies, help an animal, compliment people on their cute clothes. Make sure to not ridicule anyone for a whole day, then two then a week. Walk with a straight posture. Look people in the eye. Ask people about their story. Talk to acquaintances so they become friends.
Lie naked in the sunshine, dream big about the life you would lead if failure wasn’t a thing. Open your eyes to possibility.
Take small steps to make it happen for you…
BUT most importantly LOVE yourself
I have proven one thing in the last two years it is NEVER too late to start a business, write a book and it is NEVER too late to fulfill those dreams and crush my own limiting beliefs.
Here are just some of the many examples of those that didn’t put age as a barrier.
Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel, created his first hit comic at 39
He went on to create characters like Spider-Man
Donald Fisher, at aged 40, opened up his first ever retail store in 1969.
It was called ‘Gap’ – and is still around today.
Vera Wang, at the same age of 40, decided to start a fashion line.
Harland Sanders decided to start a chicken restaurant aged 62.
It became K.F.C
Ray Croc saw the opportunity with a burger stall aged 52.
He called it “McDonalds.”
Harry Bernstein wanted to write a book all his life.
He finally did, aged 93, and it became a bestseller when it was published at 96.
I could go on and on and on .
The idea that “we’re too old” to go after our dreams is nonsense and probably came about by listening to other people not our desire.
Many of us think our ship has sailed and we’ve missed the boat that would have made our dreams come true.
But that is just a thought….
People everywhere….
Are achieving their dreams in life…..
….. no matter old they are
What are you waiting for?
life is waiting for you
It’s a joy and here to be enjoyed
