Picking fresh peas from the garden. There is something magical about the anticipation of what might be inside. Like ‘peas in a pod’ the hope they will be identical and perfectly formed.
I didn’t wait before peeling back the ‘zipper’ and like as a child scraping my fingers underneath to pop them into my mouth. Although it’s winter here in Australia I am instantly transported back to an English summer.
In my upcoming book writing about my childhood and going back to my roots ended up being pivotal to finding home again, and recognizing it being a place as such but a sense of being. Unbeknown to me during the writing of it my book ended up at the cutting edge of what is going on in the world right now.
The messages and gifts we have often get clouded over with ‘stuff’ that we allow life to layer upon us. The imprints and opinions of others get stamped on us and negative emotions linger and become part of us instead of being released.
And so in my book I allow myself to go backwards in an attempt to shed off anything that doesn’t serve me, and to find the child again. The writing of it ended up the transformation I needed and showed me the way to be of service to others.
